Only just heard of Deborah's sad passing. I was HPA Regional Director for London 2003 to 2008 and Deborah was a great colleague and wonderful human being. She will be missed

Deborah was one of the bright stars in the public health firmament. She effortlessly combined complete competence with an easy and engaging manner. I think we will all miss her.

So shocked and saddened to hear this. I first met Deborah, when I was a first year Public Health Trainee at the then East London and City Health Authority, she was a more senior trainee but I found her informal mentorship invaluable in settling me into the world of Public Health. Over the years, our paths will cross so many times especially in the field of health protection. It does feel surreal writing this.
