My thoughts and prayers are with Deborah’s family, friends and colleagues. This is a sad loss. She was extremely approachable and personable. I have very fond memories of her calming voice as she encouraged me to do a placement with the health protection unit in 2016. Despite her busy workload, she walked me over to her colleagues to make introductions. Whenever we bumped into each other over the years, she always had a smile and a few minutes to ask how I was and chat about interesting health protection issues. She had an endearing demeanour, humanity and gentleness that attracted you to her. A rare trait in the modern workplace. May her soul rest in peace and may her loved ones be comforted always.
