Deborah, I miss you. I can't remember a time without you in public health in London! We worked together in City and Hackney on the swine flu response and child immunisation - and so it went on, our paths crossing regularly over the years until we found ourselves at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, keeping people focused but calm - in the way that you did so well. We were colleagues on the Regional Exec, and it never ceased to amaze me to witness the huge range of health protection issues that London faced and that you turned you leadership and expertise towards. London owes you. But mostly I remember your friendship and personal generosity, how much you loved your family and friends, and how much you cared about your team and their progress and development. A wonderful colleague and friend. Leaving us to soon, but after a life of love and achievements. Rest in peace Deborah x
