When I when first started working in Health Protection I was in the same office as Deborah but we didn't work very closely at the time but for some reason I had a dream about her and I told her that in the middle of the office one day. She laughed and wasn't phased at all but from then on we had such a nice relationship. We used to walk to GOSH and she would tell me funny stories of when she was a medical student and doctor that we have laughed at the pub about with Frank! I started a very annoying habit of asking Deborah really strange obscure questions on a Friday afternoon at 4:55pm and every time she would stay back and give me a long explanation of things such as pigs sneezing and could you pass on an infection from licking an envelope. She was so caring and passionate about everything she did in Health Protection. Deborah always supported and encouraged me in everything I did, even when I wanted to crack inappropriate jokes she was right here in the background laughing with me. She was a mentor and inspiration and I will miss her a lot.
