I've known Deborah since 2006, way back when I started in NENC London HPT. She was the deputy team lead and then became the Director a short while after. She really has been an amazing colleague and a friend too over that time and I'm really going to miss her very much. Her knowledge and memory about ID's was incredible. She supported me and encouraged me over the years, helping me to become the professional person I am and I will be forever grateful. Over the years we often spoke about her children and how they were and what they were doing. More recently we talked about Isabelle's dog, who she had become very fond of. I remember the photos that she had of her children in her office when we worked at Leadenhall St. She was so proud of her family and was so determined to maintain a work/home life balance. I often wondered how she managed it. We've been lucky during COVID to get to know and work with Frank, her son. I am so so sorry that Deborah has been taken away way before her time, life can be so cruel. I send my love and thoughts to all of her family at this sad time. Her memory within Health Protection and Public Health will not be lost x
