It was such a privilege to have been able to work with Deborah. Truly one of the most supportive, empathetic, encouraging and brilliant leaders I have ever known. I will miss Deborah’s always pragmatic, calm advice in even the most chaotic of moments, her humour, her candour and her presence. She was always there for anyone who needed her and seemed to have an endless capacity to support all. I especially loved the example she set of bringing her true self to work, telling us all anecdotes about her family life and interests outside of public health. I will continue to remember Deborah on a daily basis and I know she will have a lasting legacy which will impact the whole of the UKHSA London team as well as further afield.
