I worked with Deborah for 14 years since the Holborn Gate HPA days and she stood out from the start as one of the very best public health professionals who was calm, rational, kind and always willing to step up to the plate to do difficult public meetings and media interviews and generally help us out in comms. She always took the time to explain things clearly so we could work out how to explain complex issues to the public. I found listening to Deborah very calming! Deborah knitted me a gorgeous baby blanket and jacket when I had my children and if she spotted a loose thread on my cardigan she was quick to snip it off! A memorable day was when we found a drawer full of mice at Fleetbank House. Dr Turbitt knew how to handle it! I really feel that Deborah took the time to know me over the years and she was very much my "work family". I will miss her very much xx
